Avani is the Vice President and Head of Revenue based in the company's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, leading both advertising and affiliate sales for AXN, Animax, GEM and ONE across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Avani has over 16 years of media sales experience with leadership roles across global media organizations in Asia and Africa. She has successfully managed ad sales and sponsorship teams, ad sales operations, revenue management and business development in her various roles previously and expanded to channel distribution and affiliate sales in her current role at KC Global Media since May 2020.
She started her career in the television industry with Star TV in India, then moved on to be a part of the team that launched India's first 24 Hours News Network - NDTV managing ad sales as Region Head - North and later National Ad Sales Head for NDTV Lifestyle. In 2012, she joined Viacom International Media Networks Africa as the Head of Commercial in Nigeria, leading all commercial responsibility for the territory. In 2015 she joined Viacom Asia as Director Ad Sales managing pan regional and local markets based in Singapore.
Prior to KC Global Media, Avani was the Vice President of Media and Sponsorship Sales for Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia from 2017 where she headed ad sales for AXN, Animax, ONE and GEM across Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
Avani holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Allahabad and a Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising and Communication Management from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. She has lived and worked in 5 cities across 3 countries and cherishes the cross cultural experiences collected over the years managing pan-regional teams.
Crystine is the Vice President and Head of Human Resources & Corporate Services based in the company's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, responsible for leading the company’s overall human resources strategy and operational excellence while fostering a compelling and inclusive employee experience and high-performance culture.
Crystine has been a human resources leader for over two decades, partnering with Senior Leadership Teams in driving and accelerating business results through an embedded and integrated strategy, talent and culture. She has led human resource functions across diverse industries including maritime, manufacturing, media and entertainment, financial technologies and satellites telecommunications.
Prior to joining KC Global Media, Crystine served as the Vice President, People & Culture at Kacific Broadband Satellites, and Regional HR Director at MatchMove Pay. She also spent 6 years at Sony Pictures Television Media Networks Asia as Executive Director, People & Organization, serving as a credible, trusted HR business partner and advisor to multiple portfolios of Sony’s businesses, including Sony’s Pictures Television network business and corporate functions, Sony’s Electronics Global Information Security & Privacy and Sony’s Corporation of America Global Taxation Organization, while accelerating and driving the people and organization priorities to support the expansion and growth of each business. Prior to Sony, she spent 11 years at Buckman Laboratories Asia as their Head of Talent & Strategic Planning, where she built and drove their human resources, marketing and strategy planning initiatives. She played a key change catalyst role in leading and driving the Company’s successful “Good to Great” change strategy and transformation journey in achieving their BHAG.
Crystine holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern Cross University, an ACCA/ICPAS Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification (Foundation) and a LCCI Diploma in Cost Accounting and Business.
Jay oversees the overall operation of Animax Korea as a Representative Director.
Over the past 20 years, Jay has worked in production, programming, content acquisition and distribution. She has a deep knowledge of the Korean media landscape and hands-on experience in the TV industry.
She started her career as a TV producer at Art&Culture TV in the mid-90’s when PayTV channels launched in Korea for the first time. Her role encompassed all stages of the programming from formulating programing strategy to acquiring diverse TV series and movies, making multi-year license deals with domestic and overseas content providers.
She was also involved in rebranding local Pay TV channels like Food TV and a lifestyle channel, Elle at TV and led production and programing departments.
Jay was responsible for planning new media service strategy and content acquisitions for Korea Telecom’s IPTV, contributing to its commercial launch and driving the growth. She developed VOD deal structure and service strategies for Korea Telecom as well as for Animax’s OTT platform, Animaxplus.
Jay joined Animax Korea in 2013 and managed channel programming, production, content distribution and IP licensing. She has also formulated and implemented annual and mid to long term business plans and supervised the production of original animated series such as Banzi’s Secret Diary and Hello Pawmily. She was also involved in an animation investment fund for local animation projects, working closely with local animation studios, TV channels and platforms.
Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts in Korean Language and Literature from Sookmyung Women’s University and a Master of Arts in Television, Radio and Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in New York.
Derek is the Vice President and Head of Production & Creative based in the company's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, overseeing all production and creative aspects for the organization, including original productions, on-air promotion, post-production and commercial production services.
With more than 25 years of television content production experience in both long and short form, Derek is responsible for some of the most successful television formats ever produced in Asia, including The Amazing Race Asia, Apprentice Asia, Asia’s Got Talent series, Cyril Simply Magic and AXN All-Stars. The over 50 television content projects he has under his belt have received numerous awards and recognition across the region.
Derek started his production career in the Hong Kong film industry and subsequently moved to the television sector with Hong Kong TVB and STAR TV. He relocated to Singapore in 2002 to join Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia, where he established the Commercial Production Services unit for Sony’s flagship channel AXN. The unit was responsible for providing creative production solutions and branded content for advertising clients. In 2004, Derek ventured into long-form entertainment content and started the Original Production Division, leading AXN to become the English cable and satellite channel to pioneer original productions within Asia.
Derek holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Swinburne University of Technology.
Shane is the Vice President and Head of Marketing & Communication based in the company's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore.
An accredited marketing and communications professional with the International Advertising Association New York, he is an impact-driven social evangelist and content marketing leader with over 11 years of international experience spearheading brand management, strategic partnerships and omni-channel marketing and communications campaigns.
Shane ventured into the broadcasting industry with Viacom International’s kids and youth networks, Nickelodeon and MTV, and quickly gained recognition as one of Asia’s top 50 marketing mavericks in Marketing Magazine’s “Up and Rising Stars under-35” in 2009. As FOX International’s Head of Marketing, Shane oversaw a portfolio of 35 channels across National Geographic, FOX and Star. In 2012, he returned to Viacom as the Head of Marketing for Comedy Central, ensuring its successful launch across Asia. Shane’s expertise in formulating innovative content partnerships with creators, talents, brands, media and affiliates, also helped enhance Comedy Central’s rapid growth and presence in the region. At A+E Networks, Shane spearheaded as Head of Marketing, Communications, Partnerships, and Creative Services for History, H2, FYI, and Lifetime brands.
Prior to joining KC Global, Shane oversaw content strategy, product development, and Gen Z community outreach to drive strategic partnership, influencer and user-generated content campaigns for pop music talent discovery mobile application, “glitsy".
As an advocate for human rights, Shane was also part of the pro-social organisation, MTV EXIT, which raises awareness on issues of human trafficking and exploitation internationally. His heart continues to beat with a noble aspiration to inspire and influence positive change through the power of education and social influence.
