Avani is the Vice President and Head of Revenue based in the company's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, leading both advertising and affiliate sales for AXN, Animax, GEM and ONE across Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Avani has over 16 years of media sales experience with leadership roles across global media organizations in Asia and Africa. She has successfully managed ad sales and sponsorship teams, ad sales operations, revenue management and business development in her various roles previously and expanded to channel distribution and affiliate sales in her current role at KC Global Media since May 2020.
She started her career in the television industry with Star TV in India, then moved on to be a part of the team that launched India's first 24 Hours News Network - NDTV managing ad sales as Region Head - North and later National Ad Sales Head for NDTV Lifestyle. In 2012, she joined Viacom International Media Networks Africa as the Head of Commercial in Nigeria, leading all commercial responsibility for the territory. In 2015 she joined Viacom Asia as Director Ad Sales managing pan regional and local markets based in Singapore.
Prior to KC Global Media, Avani was the Vice President of Media and Sponsorship Sales for Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia from 2017 where she headed ad sales for AXN, Animax, ONE and GEM across Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
Avani holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Allahabad and a Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising and Communication Management from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. She has lived and worked in 5 cities across 3 countries and cherishes the cross cultural experiences collected over the years managing pan-regional teams.
Crystine is the Vice President and Head of HR & Business Operations based in the company's Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore, responsible for leading the company’s overall human resources strategy and operational excellence while fostering a compelling and inclusive employee experience and high-performance culture.
Crystine has been a human resources leader for over two decades, partnering with Senior Leadership Teams in driving and accelerating business results through an embedded and integrated strategy, talent and culture. She has led human resource functions across diverse industries including maritime, manufacturing, media and entertainment, financial technologies and satellites telecommunications.
Prior to joining KC Global Media, Crystine served as the Vice President, People & Culture at Kacific Broadband Satellites, and Regional HR Director at MatchMove Pay. She also spent 6 years at Sony Pictures Television Media Networks Asia as Executive Director, People & Organization, serving as a credible, trusted HR business partner and advisor to multiple portfolios of Sony’s businesses, including Sony’s Pictures Television network business and corporate functions, Sony’s Electronics Global Information Security & Privacy and Sony’s Corporation of America Global Taxation Organization, while accelerating and driving the people and organization priorities to support the expansion and growth of each business. Prior to Sony, she spent 11 years at Buckman Laboratories Asia as their Head of Talent & Strategic Planning, where she built and drove their human resources, marketing and strategy planning initiatives. She played a key change catalyst role in leading and driving the Company’s successful “Good to Great” change strategy and transformation journey in achieving their BHAG.
Crystine holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern Cross University, an ACCA/ICPAS Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification (Foundation) and a LCCI Diploma in Cost Accounting and Business.
Denise Tham is the Director of Programming & Acquisition at KC Global Media, where she heads the acquisition of English content for Asia’s leading English entertainment channel, AXN.
Overseeing AXN Asia’s linear and non-linear program schedules and new launches, Denise curates content for the channel from studios in Hollywood and around the world, to drive viewership and optimize rating performances through strategic content execution and monthly schedule planning.
Before working at KC Global Media, Denise has worked in diverse industries including travel, MICE and health. During her free time, Denise is an avid traveller who bakes, and enjoys doing philanthropic work with kids and the elderly.
Michelle Lau, Legal Consultant, brings over 20 years of legal, management and business expertise to advise KC Global Media on all legal and strategic matters in the achievement of its organizational goals. Michelle and her team assist KC Global Media with the drafting and negotiation of contracts, risk management, and the navigation of complex regulatory environments.
As the founder of Blue Space Legal, Michelle solves legal and business issues for clients across Asia Pacific, specializing in media, technology, and entertainment. Blue Space Legal’s clientele includes Fortune 50 companies, global MNCs, and publicly listed entities. Previously, Michelle was a senior media executive and legal advisor at Turner Broadcasting System (now Warner Bros. Discovery) covering 15 Asia Pacific jurisdictions, where she led M&A and business development initiatives, participated on boards, advised on a broad range of legal matters, and managed high-performing legal teams. Before that, she held positions at esteemed law firms Allen & Overy and King & Wood Mallesons.
Michelle is an award-winning lawyer recognized for industry leadership and business growth enablement, with accolades including Best In-house Lawyer, Mentor of the Year and Legal Expertise, Enabling Business Growth and Transformation.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. She is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the Supreme Court of Hong Kong. She is also an accredited mediator in Hong Kong.
When she is not building her business, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family. She also assists the next generation of lawyers as a volunteer law society mentor, for which she was awarded Mentor of the Year in 2022.
As the IT consultant for KC Global Media, Joseph Chan is an IT veteran with global expertise, boasting over 30 years of IT experience across diverse industries, including government, finance, hospitality, and media entertainment. His accolades include project managing prestigious organizations like The Walt Disney Company, foreign banks, and universities.
A seasoned Project Manager (10+ years), Joseph thrives in managing multiple projects simultaneously, which includes designing and implementing secure network infrastructure for a 16-floor university campus in Bangladesh.
At Disney, Joseph has led multi-million-dollar initiatives, from deploying enterprise software across APAC to designing and building network infrastructure for regional offices. He also rolled out Office 365 and Surface Hub solutions across their Southeast Asia offices, implemented Microsoft Power BI and a US$5m Digital Asset Management system, while enhancing customer service with a CRM solution for Disney's sales team.
He also secured Disney's intellectual property through system audits and content protection solutions, delivered a US$6m Broadcast Management and Resource Management Systems for APAC, and designed their network infrastructure and broadcast data centres for Disney offices in Singapore, India, and Japan.
Outside of work, Joseph is passionate about tech, fast cars and enjoys food adventures.
Jay Ju-Yuen Kang is the Programming & Acquisition Consultant for Asian content for KC Global Media and boasts over 20 years of navigating the ever-evolving Korean media landscape. Starting with early PayTV, she has managed all aspects of programming; from formulating strategies to acquiring diverse content, and securing multi-year deals. Her production and leadership skills are evident in the rebranding of Food TV.
Jay also played a pivotal role in launching and growing Korea Telecom's IPTV with strategic content acquisition and planning. Her expertise extends to the production of original movies and assessing potential film projects from both creative and financial standpoints.
At Animax Korea, Jay spearheaded all operations within Korea, ensuring alignment with the corporate objectives while also taking responsibility for the Profit and Loss statement. Prior to KC Global Media, Jay managed the programming, production, distribution, and IP licensing for Sony Pictures Television Networks Korea, overseeing original animated series, "Banzi's Secret Diary." She also fostered animation investments by collaborating with studios, channels, and platforms. Jay was instrumental in launching anime OTT, Animaxplus, while structuring VOD deals and crafting service strategies.
Currently, Jay leverages her experience to strategize and advise KC Global Media on Asian content acquisition.
